The silence of the arctic night was broken by the strange sound of husky dogs barking. A boat was approaching in the distance. Out of the darkness loomed the shadowy figure of a local Inuit. He had made the dangerous journey along the west coast of Baffin Island to Arctic Bay. Jack Turner had been shot and was in urgent need of medical attention. Usually it was Jack who was the one who helped others. Being a trained pharmacist and pastor he was the one who would heal people’s bodies and tend to their souls with the message of the gospel.
